Caribbean in September
When we have visited the Caribbean it is usually Jan thru Mar, however we are considering visiting it in September. Does anybody have any experience of the Caribbean in September? Thechoices we are looking at are Mexico (Riviera Maya), Cuba or Dominican Republic.

We have stayed in Grenada and Barbados in September. Yes there is rain, but it is usually short, very heavy bursts. It's still very hot and there is still plenty of sunshine. Be aware though that is is mid hurricane season - although the Southern Caribbean is rarely affected - and that if there's plenty of greenery around, there will also be PLENTY of mosquitoes!

We have never been to the Caribbean in September or any time in autumn, but if we still did fly cruises then I would be looking at Nov - early Dec which seems to be the low season and lowest priced time, and assuming the Captain would avoid any hurricanes.

We've been at the beginning of December and experienced excellent weather - not too hot and just the odd shower which, as Gill rightly says, comes down in lumps and then immediately clears and dries up !
