We went on an excursion to Puerto de Mogan, little Venice as it's apparently known. Very pretty place.

For some reason I can't find pictures of the waterways though so these will have to do!

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
Tenerife is another ' Canary ' Island where we consumed copious quantities of Bacardi ‘n’ Coke over the years. Having also sampled most, if not all, of the places of interest in both the North and Southern regions we, Mobietta actually, decided that we both wanted to visit an Orchid Garden during our Azura visit in 2010. We have pics taken during that tour but the others are on video or in hiding. In a nutshell we saw the Orchids and refreshed our memories of Puerto de la Cruz and the Orotava Valley.

I've been to Tenerife a couple of times, but the first visit is the one that stands out in my memory
We saw Mt Teide, It was very cloudy on the drive up, but we broke through the clouds, and it was beautiful

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
Our lunch stop was in the Orotava Valley where we saw this foul mouthed parrot. It swore copiously in English. In the afternoon we went a coastal resort, which I think was Puerto de la Cruz

It was a sunny day when we went but I do agree that it is a very beautiful place to be.

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
We are so enjoying the Canaries. In from work too late to post on Tenerife ( perhaps because we are second sitting). We have discovered Teresita beach. It's about 6 k from the port. max 15 euro each way in a taxi. White sandy beach and they have created a lagoon so nice for a dip. A great place to visit independently and know you can get back to the ship. Looking forward to La Palma tomorrow.

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
We have visited La Palma a couple of times and just strolled through the pretty town streets, past the old colonial style buildings, wandering in and out of various small shops and stopping for a drink at some of the outside cafes/restaurants. At the end of the town area is a museum modelled on the Santa Maria and then an equally pleasant walk back along the promenade.

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
La Palma was a revelation to us. Seems it is the World’s steepest Island with huge volcanic craters and views galore. Sounds great but less so is the geological nature of the Western side of the Island as it will, one day, slide into the Atlantic causing a giant tsunami along the Eastern Seaboard of America. We did a morning trip to see the panoramic highlights including the Caldera de Taburiente but realised too late that I hadn’t put a spare chip in my camera bag Now armed with one’s chip we went for an afternoon walk in the Port areas which coincided with one of their ‘ Festivals ‘.

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
Yet another lovely port. Have been here several times. One particular time we took in the volcano during a taxi tour. We had no idea where we planned to go when we left the ship on a glorious morning dressed for the sun. Once up there it was freezing as you would expect. I was wearing a sun dress and sandals. All the other tourists up there were well equipped wearing full hiking gear and boots. More recent visits we have walked round to the beach that you can see from the ship. Black sand but very pleasant, just a shame there are no loungers there.

Can't remember much about our visit to La Palma except we did some kind of mountain and woodland trek

We settled for a bit of a wine tasting after inspecting the dragon trees and hearing about the island preparing to engulf the USA
