Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
Looks like we mostly had a good, if maybe wet, time.
On then to Guadaloupe aka St Marie. Rather a dangerous place methinks, a bit like Midsomer.

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
We had this port after the hurricanes as an alternative stop. Initially it had not been somewhere we would have chosen to visit. We took a ships trip to the Club Med resort - Paradise!

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
We rented a car and drove there. It’s filmed on the west coast at Deshaies. We had coffee in Catherine’s bar and a meal in a local restaurant. Just around the corner is the Bach where the detective’s cabin is set. The beach is called Grand Anse, pronounced “grawnse” by the locals.
Very interesting and well worth it.

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
There is something for everyone in Antigua. With a different beach for every day of the year they tend not to be too crowded even when there are four ships in, which is often the case.
We hope to visit Nelsons Dockyard next time whenever that may be!

While we were at Nelson's dockyard three guys arrived who'd just rowed the Atlantic from La Gomera as part of the Talisker Trans-Atlantic Race. The guide couldn't quite understand that we were more interested in that than shopping for more tourist tat!

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
We first went to St Kitts in 2000 on the old Arcadia. The last stop on a repositioning cruise. It was only a half day and by tender. This was before they built the pier and developed Port Zante. We just wandered the town but loved the atmosphere as this cruise as the steel band was playing as we climbed ashore from the tender. As we sailed away there was a lunch time BBQ in deck with live music- a great first memory!
The St Kitts Railway is well worth doing. Breath taking scenery, a great was to see the island from the open upper decks. Sorry my photos are pre digital and stored away at the moment.
Last November we took the Vibe Party Bus to Frigate Bay. A converted school bus with Reggae playing and plenty of rum punch. Another fantastic day and I would recommend this,

Re: Coronavirus Virtual Cruise
When we went to St Kitts we did the trip to Brimstone Hill Fortress. We went there on a second cruise, and by the time we decided we wanted to do the train, the tour had sold out. St Kitts is on our January 2022 cruise itinerary, and if we go, we'd make sure we did the train excursion
