Our visit to Egypt was due to be on the day of voting so we missed Port Said and Alexandria. I have never been so grateful to miss a port in all my life and the first set of photos confirm my thoughts.

The harbour area wasn't too bad but we used a HOHO bus with the intention of going to Knossos and spent ages queuing in traffic to just get out of the town. We didn't dare get off at Knossos because we lost so much time in traffic jams. If we ever go again we will do a PO excursion.

We did an afternoon excursion to Knossos ( posted earlier * ) but went to the Centre in the morning

On another cruise we checked out the Castle by the harbour and thought it was worth a look see.

As we head back to Gib please let me have.your requested ports of call - not ones we visited on the outward leg, and we'll see what we can do.

Amalphi Coast, Capri and Ischia plus Massalebrense - S of Sorrento and maybe one with a view of Capri. Also Sardinia plus Pisa, Florence and Livorno, then up to and including Rome. Many Spanish and French Ports pre Gib.

I am not requesting any or indeed all of these so will be guided by you and probably aim for the gaps and leave the main Ports to other Members cos I ' hogged ' many of the Black Sea Ports.

We nearly went to Heraklion last September. We had to miss Mykonos due to high winds, so Heraklion was going to be a substitute port. But, the ports needed more re-jigging, so Heraklion was dropped and Souda Bay was added. We went to the Venetian port of Chania from Souda Bay. My first time in Crete, and it was Azura's maiden call at Souda Bay

I missed that. Ajaccio was on my first cruise, so I have a soft spot for the town
