We stayed in exactly the same but on B Deck (B324) on Britannia's Maiden Cruise.

A really nice cabin with plenty of living space.

I wrote a review on it with pictures...

We had same on B deck too. Nice. The only downside, common to most cabins on Britannia, is the balcony is small and strictly for sitting. No room for laying out in the sun. Suited us but won't suit some.

Ah, I remember you well.

To be truthful though we didn't have balcony weather on that cruise.

Just great company on a great ship.

Thanks, I will note it as one to avoid; small balcony and, it seems, in full shade.

Hence I mentioned the one we chose on Deck B.

No problem being in the shade there - or the shadows.

Some, it seems, are more in the shadows than others :sarcasm: .

For the most part it must depend on the position of the sun and the direction one is following ... in the vast majority of cabins anyway.

Can't remember Britannia's architecture but certainly on Azura and Ventura higher deck balconies are more shaded by the overhang of the deck above. But on B deck on Britannia in March it wasn't an issue. If the sun was our side it wasn't high enough in the sky for us to to shaded. If it was the other side it wouldn't matter which ship or which cabin it would still be shaded. And to be honest if we were on a ship in a season when the sun was hot and overhead we'd want shade anyway.

Surely on return trip cruises the sun should have roughly equal distribution both sides.

The days of POSH cruising have gone. :o

Interestingly, the forward balcony cabins on A-Deck on both sides of Arcadia are more or less permanently shaded by the superstructure above. On our first time on her, it took us nearly a week to work out why we hardly ever saw the sun !!
