Jodhpur - Day 1

#1

Post by david63 »

The drive to Jodhpur was uneventful and we arrived late afternoon. For some inexplicable reason we had to get out of our car before we could enter the city limits and take a tuk-tuk to the hotel. This was fine apart from the fact that the driver arrived before us with our luggage!

We have a superb view of Meherangarh Fort from the balcony of our room.

We have just had dinner after having had a pre-dinner drink in one of the most unique places possible. To reach the bar it is somewhat reminiscent of climbing a bell tower – a lot of winding steps – but once up there the view of the fort is spectacular. This is obviously not the place to have too much to drink if you want to get back down in one piece.

One downside of this hotel is that there is a mosque just across the way and we will be getting an early morning wakeup call at 04:45 – as a very kind thought the hotel does provide ear plugs!
