New Cunard ship on the way
I see it has been announced that Cunard have ordered a new ship for 2022
http://www.cunard.co.uk/cruise-ships/new-ship/
This may be a radical suggestion, but I bet she'll be called "Queen" something !!
By then, maybe the good ship Queen Camilla ?!

If that artist's impression is accurate she'll be as ugly as Norwegian Epic. So Queen Camilla might be appropriate.
On the other hand by then we might have skipped straight to Queen Catherine!

It isn't long since Cunard had Caronia, maybe 10 years, so it may not be a Queen.

If its similar to HAL's Konigsdam, which looks likely, then it looks better in the flesh. We watched it sail out of Rostock as we were in Warnemunde last year and the extra 2 decks forward are not as pronounced as the photos make it appear.Mervyn and Trish wrote: ↑25 Sep 2017, 16:22If that artist's impression is accurate she'll be as ugly as Norwegian Epic. 'Queen Anne ' gets my vote, whatever it's called I doubt I'll be sailing on it.

The only other 20th century Queen was Alexandra, Edward VII wife, which might be in keeping with the present naming.

Re: New Cunard ship on the way
I would hope the name Camilla isn't even being considered as I think it would alienate a lot of people against Cunard, it's a nice thought it might be Catherine but I don't see that being a consideration either simply because whilst I'm sure she will become Queen who knows if she would be thirty years down the line so it could become an embarrassment, I don't particularly care what they call it as long as it isn't Camilla but I will look forward to sailing on it.

Hopefully a fourth ship in the fleet will give a wider range of itineraries. It will be interesting to see what they do with her.

Re: New Cunard ship on the way
I doubt it Foxy .. as much as I love Cunard their itineraries are very repetitive and unimaginative ( except the WC's )
I think the aim will be for one of them to be outside of the UK permanently ( just my opinion ) it's interesting though that the QE during her 2019 World Cruise will spend quite a few weeks in Australia and during that time will be doing short 'booze cruises', I personally can't see any logic in why they would do this except to get a foothold in the Australian market.

Re: New Cunard ship on the way
My thinking was that one ship seems to permanently do fly cruises, QM2 in general is involved in crossing the Atlantic which currently leaves one ship out of Southampton doing very repetitive cruises to places we have already been to many times before, presumably to satisfy their American clientele 'doing Europe'.
