Now you've upset me - been trying to get there for ages but we have never had an overnight in Barbados and they don't open for lunch any more. Bought Paul's recipe book several years ago and there are some spectacular recopies in it.

We went to Barbados for my 60th three years ago and ate at the Cliff that night. It really was superb. Definitely worth trying to get to.

Guilty as charged milord, but as a coeliac (gluten allergy) I am always amazed at some of the dishes I can have and send photos back home with the heading "This is gluten free".

I'm sure Dai will remember our forum meeting on Arcadia when I declined the pastries offered with the coffee as I was coeliac, moments later the waiter came back with two pastries covered in jelly and fresh fruit and the rest of the congregation watched in envy as I devoured them.

like most of social media, taking pictures of food and posting them to anyone sad enough to comment is just another form of narcissism, just another way of bragging and boasting that you have something ,someone else doesn't, with the inference that they cannot afford what you are taking pictures of, be it food, cars, cabins on ships etc
a rather pathetic fad, which is perpetuated by those who think other people actually give a toss about what they are eating etc

It is one thing taking a photo of a beautifully-created dish for your own use or, like Raybo, to share with family but another altogether to post it on Facecloth, Twaddle or Instaprat

Anyone interested in the beans I froze last night ?!

I have to confess I do take photos of food I'm about to eat but only on a cruise. I don't post it on social media but send it to my best mate. I will then send him a photo of the empty plate. He needs confirmation that I'm a fat b@@@@rd.

Only childish banter between ourselves. No harm done.

I took a pic of James Martin and his sugar spun pud that he did for us on our 45th wedding anniversary ... it, and a signed menu, are to this day still on display ( albeit discretely ) in our kitchen.

I am in a fb group and we do share pics of food before and after.
No bragging intended at all....sometimes it's spag bol, with ingredients from all different shops...aldi, sainsburys ,Morrisons and Waitrose and other times it's lobster and fillet steak..from same shops..and fishmonger. :)
As long as its healthy.

I am preparing this for my evening meal, corgetti spaghetti with a SW bolognese sauce.
VERY healthy and yummy.

I'm not sure whether to call in the Apostrophe Police over this thread ?!

I don't think Photos should have an apostrophe as it is the plural of Photo, not a possessive.

Do I need to get out more ?

Yes, indeed I do !!

How long does it take to cook ' spiraled ' courgette / squash / carrot / sweet potato ... or is the main idea to eat them raw rather than as a pseudo pasta ?

3 mins in microwave if you buy them ready made.
I make my own, so give them a quick stir fry to use instead of pasta.
I don't eat them raw.

Courgetti takes less time than potato/carrots/squash I find. I toss them in a tiny bit of oil and roast for delicious veg. Coirgettes are very quick.

I also make fab salads with my spiralizer using cucumber/peppers/beetroot/carrots etc all spiralized together.
