Re: Ship names

Re: Ship names
I don't think some of the old names would project the image P&O are trying to project with their newer ships but that is just my opinion and Britannia was well received, I think one thing that is pretty certain should there be another ship the name will end in an A .. I rather like Athena.

Re: Ship names
Be nice to have a smaller ship in the fleet. A good name would be Adonia....... !

Re: Ship names
I am definitely not into repeating names of earlier ships, I like each ship to have its own identity so would always want a new name for a new build, or even a transfer in.
I don't have any suggestions but I do like there to be a theme to the names, and thats not just because thats how the RCI group work.

Re: Ship names
Strange that Merv but one of Pauline's early comments was that the standard of cruiser on Britannia was a lot lower than we had experienced on Eclipse back in June/July. Now I realise this was a school holiday cruise, and there were a lot of children on board but they behaved very well, little noise, no running aimlessly around and no playing around in the lifts, but there were some very miserable, non family folk on board.Mervyn and Trish wrote:So do we Blod, but I'm happy to keep the riff raff off.

I'm reasonably confident I would enjoy a cruise on Britannia, but even more confident I would enjoy the same cruise even more if on Aurora, Arcadia or even Azura....Jan Rosser wrote:

Our experience has been that there are lovely people on every line we've been on along with a few we'd prefer never to meet again.
We did have a particularly interesting group on our table on Calamity Collapse. Not counting us, four of the table were P&O regulars trying Calamity for the first time and they were lovely.
The other two had never travelled on any line other than Calamity and they looked down their noses at us riff raff throughout the first night and never came to dinner again!

The name of my old boat was 'Icarus' in Greek mythology Icarus was the son of the master craftsman Daedalus who made him some wings, but he flew too close to the sun and burnt his wings crashing into the Aegean Sea.
Any ship that takes you to the sun has got to be named 'Icarus' yes ?, oh just a thought.
