We are very sorry but due to an IT issue at the weekend which has affected all incoming telephone lines our Contact Centre will be closed again today, Tuesday. Online booking is still available. We apologise for this disruption and we are working to investigate and rectify it as soon as possible.

Was this a result of the Carnival data base being hacked at the weekend I wonder.
Carnival have admitted that hackers have accessed customers personal details but will not disclose which cruise lines were hit.

From reading something else about it somewhere else (cannot remember where) it was not a UK brand and I doubt it was an EU brand. When they were talking about who had been informed there was no mention of the ICO - they all sounded American organisations.

David, the same source has suggested that probably Carnival's UK IT systems have been taken offline while the ransomeware attack is being investigated and the affected system is restored.

That would probably be the case as most of Carnival's IT is interlinked.
