We've had the central heating on as well home and away!
We were in Beadnell last week and got home yesterday, the weather was OK but didn't change the heat settings. We only had rain one evening (going to the pub) apart from that it was a mixture of sunshine and chilly winds when walking on the beach ;) we have been there several times and really like it nice sandy beaches :)

Had the heating on for a blast every morning while in Devon last week.

You watch, it'll all suddenly change from one extreme to the other and we'll be whinging because it's too hot.

Our central heating use is dictated by how cold the house is, time of year is irrelevant.

Same here. If it's cold it's cold

I agree - mine came on this morning - I just hate being cold  and somehow heavy rain makes it seem colder (which has just started again - fed up!!!).

I would have thought in the evenings to take off the chill a gas fire or a heater will do, but in the morning just jump out of bed and greet the day.
If in Wales, just grab an umbrella and put on a overcoat.

I'm not starting a separate thread because I know what will happen. But I'm gobsmacked by the people on Facebook saying that P&O have stopped adding gratuities to on board accounts so now we can tip who we please!

NO! P&O are very clear in on board and pre cruise bumph that tips are neither expected nor required. Please don't start us round that loop again.

When tipping was expected we always gave the recommended amount, usually rounded up. But now it is not we are also giving the required amount. Zero.

Merv, there are a lot of trolls around on all social media sites who delight in making provocative comments, it obviously give them some sort of weird pleasure to see what replies they receive.

For up to the minute weather, say the you are thinking about hanging out washing or want to mow the lawn, I use ' raintoday. co. uk ' it give a good picture of what's happening. Will not show a lite shower.
For us now in the East it shows a clear spot of no rain and that is exactly what is happening. Enjoy.

In which case surely you should use their weather forecast? You pay enough.

They probably only have the forecast for Westeros, and we all know winter is coming, but don't tell me the end as we have not started watching the final series yet, that's Game of Thrones if you don't know what I am talking about.

Weather wise today warm sunshine this morning (until3pm) wore a t-shirt and carried a cardigan, now the rain is bouncing of the pavement!!!
