Perhaps Mrs Cubie is keeping her eye on him to ensure his time is being spent more ' productively ' than hitherto, could he be putting up a shelf or painting something in a pretty colour ... like wot Merv was ?

Took our dog her walk through the woods and over the fields and as it rained last night she was a mess, we managed to wash our wellies in a puddle at the end of the walk. She is now at the groomers getting her wash and cut (she goes every eight weeks) I am waiting on the phone call to collect her :) the house does feel strange with out her!

At least she's coming back. When we have lost cats over the years, as you say the house feels strange and empty. As the small picture hanging in our hallway says, 'a home without a cat is just is just a house'.
