Aurora Captain
Does anyone know who is the Captain on Aurora since Neil Turnbull's illness? He was due to be on our Christmas cruise but I would think they will be finding a replacement for then as well if Neil isn't back.
Any ideas from regular cruisers out there?

Re: Aurora Captain
Thanks QB, I have looked there but it's not been updated for a few months. The Peninsular magazine is more upto date but even that doesn't really have anything new either. It does have Neil down as Captain, we were so looking forward to cruising with him after all the things we have read about him. I doubt he will be returning so soon though.
Thanks again for your reply.

Re: Aurora Captain
Hi folks
I got an email today telling me about the new edition of 'Our World' magazine which comes a few weeks after recieving the hard copy and in the section about which officers will be on board.
It now says the following
NEIL TURNBULL
2 JUL - 8 OCT
ANGELO VAGO
8 OCT - 3 DEC
NEIL TURNBULL
3 DEC - 6 MAR
So what do you make of that?

I suspect one of those rare P&O cockups! The dates don't tie up with the normal range in the current edition and Julian Burgess, who appears to have disappeared from your new list is the Captain featured in P&O's video about the new look Aurora and presumably therefore on board now as the original list.
Having said all that, I hope Neil Turnbull is ready to reappear on the rota. We always liked him and, while not having heard any detail, were concerned for him having heard he was unwell.

Re: Aurora Captain
I can confirm Julian Burgess is still at the helm of Aurora. No news on Neil Turnbull's progress but hearsay has it that he hopes to be fit to return to the fold by 2016

Ta. Seen it. Apologies, a bit insensitive of me to ask in public.

Re: Aurora Captain
Hi Mervyn & Trish,
We spoke to one of the Officers about Neil Turnbull, I'm pleased to say that he is well on the road to recovery and whilst P&O site shows he will be Azura's Captain in April this year the Officer we spoke to said it hadn't yet been confirmed which ship but that he just has his Medical to take and should be back on board by later in the year.
Really good news .
