Re: Anyone Else Seen This?
Is no one going to comment about how unfair it is to publish a picture of the person when s/he is unable to reply?
Thought not.
In 1986 we went on Canberra & on the previous cruise a painter ( contractor) was involved in some high jinx after a few drinks & fell overboard at about 1am. The alarm was raised an the ship carried out a manoeuvre ((Williamson turn?) which brought the vessel round in a circle and to a stop at the point at which he fell overboard. Luckily he was spotted and a boat rescued him. The incident was reported widely in the national press. His company was charged for the extra fuel used.
I know the ship’s company train for emergency situations but launching a rescue craft at sea is a hazardous operation and foolish pranks fIl to appreciate that the perpetrators may put others’ lives at risk.

It is akin to the countless people we see pictures of tottering on the edge of Beachy Head, West Bay and other crumbling cliffs. Not the sense they were born with !

David63. I didn’t mean to accuse anyone of posting the above comment(ie it’s it fair to publish etc). I guess you saw the FB page from which you took the picture. The point I was attempting to make was that on this site, no one got up in arms about possibly compromising the privacy of the individual who behaved in such an alarming way. (This happened on FB). I merely intent ended to imply that there is a less sensational approach to posts on this site.
Apologies if I have offended anyone.

Re: Anyone Else Seen This?
A pity the person who took this picture didn't have the sense to inform the prankster how foolish they were being.

Re: Anyone Else Seen This?
Manoverboard has a point, there are so many photos posted on the web that look so incredible, that one thinks they must have been photoshopped .
If it is a true photo then the person is acting in a very irresponsible way.

It worries me that so many sensible people on this forum are possibly being misled by fake news from Facebook.

Re: Anyone Else Seen This?
I presume that is a possibility that P&O will investigate. But it is such a serious and dangerous matter surely the "sensible" option is to assume it's real unless proved otherwise? It seems it is the exposure on Facebook that has brought it to P&O's attention.
I would say, however, that assuming it is real, the best thing the person who took the photo could have done is to report it immediately on board.
