It has now been confirmed by P&O That Adonia has been sold and will leave the fleet after March 2018. SHAME!

Re: Adonia
That's my sister's June cruise gone for a burton but it actually solves a dilemma for her as her son's family have suddenly announced that they are coming over from America for a holiday. At least this way she will get her deposit back plus £100 towards a future cruise.

Re: Adonia
So as before "we are finalising Adonia's whole programme for next year and an update will be provided over the coming weeks." was a straight lie! Again.

What a shame, I'm glad we tried her when we did. Wouldn't pay Azamara prices did look and considered it briefly for my husbands retirement present to ourselves but didn't! went on a Adonia to the Caribbean instead

P&O never seem to learn and with announcements like this do themselves no favours

Wonder what will replace her.

Re: Adonia
Trouble is, they were between a rock and a hard place. I suspect they couldn't release confirmed details of the sale before the deal was done and dusted and they couldn't release a programme as it was likely she would be sold. What else could they have said in those circumstances when people like Merv kept asking the difficult question !?david63 wrote: ↑26 Sep 2017, 15:45Good job none of us believed it and held out waiting to book.Mervyn and Trish wrote: ↑26 Sep 2017, 13:40So as before "we are finalising Adonia's whole programme for next year and an update will be provided over the coming weeks." was a straight lie! Re: Adonia
For a bunch of P&O sycophants you lot are a right load of old moaners.
Fortunately we are not bothered about Adonia's departure, as wheelchair users its not really suitable for us and of course neither is Azamara so again their high prices are not a problem, but if any of you are miracle workers we will gladly swap with you.

Yes, they do seem to be expensive when compared to P&O but we think that they offer a superior product. We have just paid in excess of £7,000 for 10 days, including the cost of our excursions, on Fred's Braemar and I am absolutely certain that we could have done it for a whole lot less ... but why should we, is it better ( our thinking ) to pamper ourselves at this stage of our lives or should we penny pinch and let the kids waste it ?

Re: Adonia
I agree, and said as much when this was first discussed. However they could have come out with a better story such as "As part of an ongoing process we are reviewing the position of Adonia within the Carnival organisation" - which would have basically said the same thing, that she was going, but would also have left some "wriggle" room if she didn't without building up passengers hopes - oh and would actually have been the truth!qbman1 wrote: ↑26 Sep 2017, 15:52Trouble is, they were between a rock and a hard place. Will we ever be able to believe any statement put out by P&O about any ship in the fleet?

The worst aspect for me, though it didn't affect us personally, is selling her before completed booked cruises.

Re: Adonia
I wonder if she will be replaced with a similarly sized or mid-sized ship or whether this is just part of P&O's policy of 'going big, pack 'em high'.
