Would you?

#1

Post by anneed »

I've been reading about the 90-year-old lady who agreed to go on a P&O cruise with a 91-year-old chap, John, just 45 minutes after meeting him in a Winchester pub. It seems to have all worked out brilliantly for them - no romance but happy companionship. P&O are so pleased with the publicity they've offered them another cruise for free! But I can't help thinking they were both taking a huge risk. So - what would you do if the chance came your way (and you were single of course)?
Apparently John visits The Vine in Winchester once a month - it's just a few yards from the cathedral where I work..!

I wouldn’t share a cabin or hotel room for one night with my best friends, so I certainly wouldn't share with a stranger.

I'm in agreement with Gill on this one.

No not for me either. Definitely not with a 90 year-old!

Me too - like my own space - I know I'm a funny one  and as for sharing with a 90 year old stranger I'll pass on that too

All that said, for them it was a win-win. She got a free cruise. He probably didn't pay a lot more than the dreaded single supplement. And they both got companionship and had a lovely time.

some relationships work out with intimacy from day one one. I know a lot will say no intimacy on day one but there are relationships where
where both act out of character and it works.

Hearing aids, dentures and glasses all on the bedside cabinet. What more could you ask for, Mervyn?
