Have Carnival got a Master Plan?
Just had an email to say that Princess will be having a new LNG powered ship (Enchanted Princess) having its maiden season in Europe in 2020. So by 2020 there will be four new ships in Europe with an additional capacity of around 18k with the same number coming again by 2022 - and that is without the US based ships.
Now I know that the cruise market is expanding but surely not 36k berths per week - where are all of these passengers coming from? It does not bode well for the smaller ships in Carnival's fleet - at this rate even Ventura and Azura look vulnerable.

It's a helleva lot of berths, that's for sure.
I think these massive ships are the destinations, and the ports are secondary. At a time when I'm looking more at 'different' ports, these bigger ships don't really appeal. (although I'll give Iona a try at some point)
Enchanted Princess sounds like it should be a Disney ship.
