If anyone is cruising soon may I suggest you have a quick look at your details in cruise personaliser and make sure they are all correct, especially passport details.

I have just checked ours and noticed that although allot of the saved details were correct certain sections were missing, and the passport numbers were completely wrong.

I’ve just filled in the ‘trial’ online check in. The passport numbers for both of us are wrong. There is a double box for entering passport number and the upper box is already populated. There was also a section which asked for ALL given names as they appear on your passport. In both of our cases the middle names were missing from our online form and the names could not be altered. I contacted P&O & explained the omissions- they said they couldn’t allow name changes online as passengers may try to change names without going through the correct procedures. They seemed happy enough with only our first names.

The passport number is often shown wrongly, on querying this I was told is was a security thing. It requires you to correct them correctly.

Passports get updated from time to time of course and maybe P&O make them wrong on purpose just in case they get hacked and our details are sold on etc …

A bit of a lame excuse from P&O me thinks, they might as well just wipe the slate clean after each cruise if security is such a big issue. Reason enough for all to check they're details and not assume they are correct from last time you entered them.

We have two cruises coming up in May and September. Just been into my Cruise Personaliser for both to check passport details and they're both fine. Good to check though, the last thing when you get to the terminal or airport is to be informed the details are wrong.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up Stephen.
My details were correct on one cruise and wrong on the others, Julies details were wrong on them all. Some things I noticed
- Sometimes my middle name is present and sometimes it is not
- the incorrect passport numbers seemed to be our previous passport numbers
- while the passport numbers were wrong the start and end dates were actually correct

Mine always used to show a previous passport, but for the past year or so have shown all details correct.

You'd think with the multiple messages we received about the new data protection regs, usually with the threat of you'll lose your loyalty benefits if you don't give us permission to keep your details, they might have sorted our their system to either delete all old passport info or alternatively keep it correctly!
