New cruise release

#1

Post by Suekersh »

Just had an e mail from P & O. The new release will include cruises up to April 2022 instead of to October 2021.

We are considering another World cruise in 2022 but That’s a long time to book ahead and pay a deposit but if we don’t we won’t get our choice of cabin.

I had that email too, and noticed that we can book up to April 2022 - two and a half years away.

I like to book ahead - but its getting out of hand now.

Isn't that what P and O are hoping, that passengers will book that early for cabin choice. I usually book about 18 months ahead, but anything can happen. Insurance companies will not insure that far ahead. I suppose if you are considering a world cruise such as Sue then cabin choice is a major consideration.

I had the same email but didn't really take any notice of the dates!

A couple of thoughts:

Perhaps they are moving to only release once a year - must be some cost savings with printing if nothing else.

Do any other lines book that far in advance? If not then perhaps they are trying to get in early and "corner the market". If others do then it is a question of keeping up.

Princess launched their summer 21/22 brochure in August, as did several of the smaller luxury operators. I would prefer that they all launched on the same date, or at least the same month, that way you would have a lot more choice, but I guess that's a pipe dream.

I think they should all send just me the dates first so I get first choice regardless what tier I am. :sarcasm:

I think the Carnival brands in the UK will always be slightly staggered. It's probably the same people answering the reservation phones at Carnival House.

P&O's Aurora worldie in 2022 does have some Japanese ports, there is an itinerary on CC on the P&O threads.

Yes Tokyo overnight and Kagoshima. Unfortunately no South Africa. There are some new ports on it for us but we would have preferred the South Africa and Indian Ocean itinerary. We will just have to wait to see what the prices are like.

Thanks so much for the info - now just waiting for the prices - I think a balcony on Aurora May stretch the budget too much😢- looking forward to seeing what Ventura and Azura are doing in January 2022

On looking at the med cruises most are now 19 nights instead of 17. For me it's harder to be away that long. Also with single supplement 19 nights becomes about £3000. Will just have to wait for the prices but Arcadia or Aurora are my preferred ships.
