The ports that mention are all in the Euro zone so you should have no problems with using Euros.
If there is a port that you are visiting that uses some other currency then you will be able to get it on board and charge it to your on board account at no additional cost

True - but in a lot of cases you get a very poor exchange rateMeg 50 wrote:and even outside the euro zone, most in port touristy' places will accept euros, US $$ and/or ££

but you're on holiday and if it's only something minor, 'what the 'eck' ?
however for big things, use plastic if necessary

I agree, and that is the view I take but for some the exchange rate is the "be all and end all" of the cruiseMeg 50 wrote:david63 wrote:True - but in a lot of cases you get a very poor exchange rateMeg 50 wrote:and even outside the euro zone, most in port touristy' places will accept euros, US $$ and/or ££

Kotor is in Montenegro which isn't strictly in the Euro Zone, but uses the Euro on a unilateral basis (having no currency of it's own).david63 wrote:The ports that mention are all in the Euro zone so you should have no problems with using Euros.

Maybe Alex Salmond should seek instructions from the Montenegrans as to how this is done?Romig1 wrote:Kotor is in Montenegro which isn't strictly in the Euro Zone, but uses the Euro on a unilateral basis (having no currency of it's own).david63 wrote:The ports that mention are all in the Euro zone so you should have no problems with using Euros.
