Grando, a very warm welcome to our friendly boards
Great Port of Call . . . lots of interesting places to enjoy
I don't remember any HOHO buses on our visit, used Taxi which was comfortable, owner/driver spoke English, and took great pride showing us his Capital
I am sure that you are aware that Reykjavic and it's environments is a very "pricy"
Enjoy your cruise

Dancing Queen has, today, put a very useful thread headed HO HO bus on the forum. There is a link to the city sightseeing buses and Iceland is shown on there. Look under Cruise Specific Discussion.

Hello Doreen - we are going to Iceland in a couple of weeks. We are unlikely to use the HO HO bus after using one in Heraklion, Crete, which was a total waste of money as we sat in traffic jams all the time and we said that in future we will walk whenever possible. I'm just hoping the main sights aren't too spread out. We visited Iceland a couple of years ago but did a ships full day excursion so didn't get to look around the town. However, I will keep my ears flapping to find out if anyone else used them and try to find out their opinions. We are back at the end of June so if I hear of anyone using them I'll let you know what they thought of them.Grando wrote:Thanks everyone, and yes Maureen I had looked on line before I posted but was just wondering if anyone had used them.

The City is quite compact so it's easy enough to walk it ... if you are fortunate to be reasonably fit of course.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

I don't recall a hoho bus..it easy to walk around and more of a county town size than Capital city size...we downloaded , via their tourist info site , a walking tour...I read out the blub as we wandered around...well worth it...do look up the web cam for Iceland the central lake is a feature and In winter the web cam shows you the lake frozen and locals walking over it. Just google Reykjavik Tourist information .
