Just finished this book by J K Rowling, it was very good but I found it rather depressing, has anyone else read it?

Yes, I read it when it first came out. I found it slow to get into while she developed the characters, and very long, but found the end even more satisfying because of the above - I found I really empathised with them.
Have you read The Cuckoo's Calling by her under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith? A tale of an unusual private detective? This was one I couldn't put down. The sequel, The Silkworm is due to be published this month and I can't wait!

No I haven't read The Cuckoo's Calling but my husband has and he enjoyed it very much, I think I will put it on my list to read.
