This is deffo the best bit ... ;)

Go back to the pic then right click and choose Paint.

ps ... ( Tis perhaps best to choose Landscape Pics for our WW Cruise )

The display will contain your pic.

Now to resize .....

Click ' resize ' ( Top row - fourth along - in the middle )

Click the circle that is next to pixels

Type 650 to the right of the word horizontal

( The vertical will auto adjust )

Click OK and the display will close

( Your pic should now be smaller in the Paint display )

Now click Save on the Paint page ( at the very top, an icon like a tape symbol.

If you now go back to the Allatc folder your Pic should be smaller than before, double click it to check.

OK ?

Now for the acid test .... drum roll ....

Do a Reply in the usual way but click on ' Full Editor and Preview '

Scroll down and click on ' Attachments '

Now click on ' Add Files ' below left of Attachment Tab

Choose the file and double click it ...

( Now make sure the curser is below any typing that you may have added as a description for example )

Finally click on Place Inline >

Et voila ?

Good luck

My best Venice photos were taken in 2003, the year before I got a digital camera. All those photos are in the loft.

Jack,, here’s how to transfer photos from PC to iPad.

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT205323

It looks complicated, but once it’s set up, it works well.

Just a note about iPads.

I find the resizing that is needed to post a pic on here much easier to do on the PC. it's a bit fiddly on the iPad.

However, in general, its great to have photos on my iPad, as I look at them a lot more than I do on the PC. If anyone puts a lot of photos on an Apple device they'll need to check their iCloud storage, as Apple only give you 5GB for free. I've upgraded to 50GB at a cost of Β£0.79 a month.

Would you care to spell it out at the basic level so that those with iPads can post their pictures ?

To be honest, on the iPad I got as far as adding the photo as an attachment, but the file was too big.

As I keep my photos on the PC as well, I switched to the PC to do the resizing on the web site that was mentioned, as it was just easier to do on the PC

As far as I can see, people wanting to use their ipad can follow the instructions that have been given for the PC - it's just my opinion that it looks more fiddly, to find the photos you want on the ipad , then to open another browser window for the resizing and a small touch screen for the typing.

I don't know anything about using an iPad but I do know that Mobietta can, using a Galaxy Tablet, send me a pic as an attachment on an e-mail at a size of 640 x 480-ish which is perfect for this exercise but only applies if one has a PC as well.

So ...

There must be somebody out there who knows how to post a pic from an iPad .... HELLO :)

Just one tip I've just found by experience. I tried to load a photo and it didn't and there was a little warning icon to the right. When I clicked it said something like "site quota reached". If that happens to you in the current posting flurry, if you go to your user control panel, by clicking on your photo top right, and you'll see a "manage attachments" option. That showed I had 150, which is presumably the limit. So I deleted loads of old ones (they're marked with dates) from there and all is well again.

How to post a pic from an iPad

1. Click on 'Full Editor & Preview' on this site as normal using your iPad
2. Click on 'Attachments' and then just below 'Attachments' click on 'Add Files'
3. Click on 'Photo Library' and choose your image
4. There will be a blue tick in the chosen image
5. Click 'Done' top right of the image box. Now post it

A wider problem is how to re-size it down to approx 680 x 480 prior to shipping it onto this site .... any ideas ?

That what I did, but the photo was too big. I felt it was easier to resize the pic on the PC.

Don't know how to resize on the iPad. Never had to.

Any resizing I do is on the PC using either 'Paint' which is part of Windows or 'Paint Shop Pro' which I purchased.

Make sure it is a JPEG image, or when you resize it 'SAVE IT AS' a JPEG image as this can often make the difference it you can post it or not.
