Posting Jpeg ' Still ' Pics from a ' Movie ' DVD

There are a few things to assume and then to organise before starting this process and it should be noted that this tutorial is based on a PC using Windows 10 and that the finalised Jpeg pics will reside in a Pictures folder within File Explorer. It's all free and inclusive Windows software

I will assume ...

* You have a DVD containing video clips and footage as taken , for example, using a Camcorder

* That you have a DVD Player on your PC

* That you wish to use the ‘ Movies ‘ above to post ‘ Still ‘ pics on the Forum.

Tis then best to ...

* Open the Pictures folder in File Explorer and create a suitable ‘ New Folder ‘ for the resultant pics. I opted for ;

( New Folder ) Cruise Community
( New Folder ) Virtual World Cruise
( New Folder ) USA

* Place the Windows DVD Player & Conversion Software Shortcuts onto the Task Bar ;

Left Click on the Windows Icon located far left on existing Task Bar
Scroll down to ‘ Snip and Sketch ‘, do not type the letter ‘ S ‘ to locate it
Right Click on it and locate ‘ More ‘
Move mouse over it and Select ‘ Pin to Task Bar ‘

.... and ...

Scroll down to ‘ Windows DVD Player ‘
Right Click on it to ‘ More ‘ to Select ‘ Pin to Task Bar ‘

Time to Start .....

* Click on the ‘ Windows DVD Player ‘ icon on your Task Bar

* Insert a DVD into the DVD Player on your PC

After a short period a display will be presented showing the files ( Chapters ) that are on the DVD

“ Click on the one required, it will become highlighted

The DVD will automatically start to ‘ Play ‘

When you see something to convert to a Jpeg Pic press ‘ Pause ‘

* Only when in ‘ Pause ‘ mode ....

Click on the ‘ Snip and Sketch ‘ icon on your Task Bar

Select ‘ New ‘, top left corner

Drag the gun sight, ‘ + ‘, top left to bottom right to capture your picture

( Cropping can be done at a late time )

Releasing the ‘ Drag ‘ function will open a new window showing your pic

Click ‘ Save ‘ ( upper right above pic display )

Enter a suitable ‘ Name ‘ of pic and ensure ‘ Type ‘ is ‘ JPG ‘

Exit from that Window and the DVD will continue.

Repeat as required until complete but don’t forget to eject the DVD.

Edit as required once all the pics are within your Pictures folder.

To be continued as and when any improvements are identified
