We have been told by P&O that we will only be able to book our seat on the BA flight for this cruise
4 days before the start of the cruise(1/3/13).
If you had booked the flight with BA,you could have booked your seat the day you made your booking up to to one year before the start of the year!
Has anyone else been told this or know the reason why this is ?

Hi
We are on Ventura 1st March. Did the transatlantic on Arcadia in 2009 but 2 weeks wasnt long enough around the islands. Had 2 weeks on Ventura in Feb 2010 and 2011 but hate the long overnight flight home so this cruise will make it more pleasant. Only problem being we fly from Manchester so will be taken back there and have to collect the car and drive back south again. Ah well its such a hard life lol

Ariana
I've just spoken to one of the girls at the flight department and she says that the seats are allocated by them and you cannot pre book for BA flights but don't worry all parties are sat together, you only find out your seats at check in.

Hello Manxbouy,
Thanks for your response to my query about the BA flights for this cruise.
It seems that P and O still can't decide what they are doing re seat allocations in as much as they are telling you that seats have been pre-allocated and we were told that you are able to choose(on payment to BA) 4 days prior to departure.
I realise that "we all get a seat" (snippy statment from their flight department)but it would be nice if P and O could give a consistent answer to a simple question.
Anyway we,ll see what happens on the day

 Hi all,

Hubby & I are also on this 21 night transatlantic. We also thought 2 weeks wasnt long enough and the flight home a drag so should be relaxing sailing home (hopefully the Atlantic will be kind). We are flying from Manchester with Thomas Cook and we booked our seats about 5 weeks ago. 18 days to go yippee.

Travelling as a two couples on the 1st from Manchester, looking forwards to three weeks of the usual excellent service. Hope the weather stays fair, chatting to some of the Azura passengers today as they headed out to Barbados in terminal 2 with Thompsons. Reassured the 'first timers' that they would have a great experience, and suggested a few options for DIY trips on their islands.

Manx Buoy, you should have a good flight with BA, I would guess it should be the standard service, we are with TCX from terminal one, they are not the greatest at giving you a good customer experience.

It starts with the 'Gestapo' at check in at terminal one. They have a hand baggage limit of 5 kg, an empty case of the laid down dimensions weighs 2.5 kg. I am sure the gauge that they insist you place your hand baggage in is actually smaller than the required measurements stated! They then have a very unpleasant way of imposing a surcharge for the extra half kilo you may be over! Sadists of the Check in! If you make on objection your bag ends up in Tenerife!

Thompsons fly from to Barbados from terminal two, they are much more relaxed and professional on how they handle passengers.
