Re: Loyalty scheme review
I believe that you can have a scheme that gives the best of both worlds.
You can have a "bonus" scheme based on the number of nights which gives you perks such as early embarkation, private parties, etc. and is a "rolling" scheme so that it does not get top heavy and alongside that a "voucher" scheme based on spend (both accommodation and on board spend) which allows you to buy vouchers for select dining, internet time, spa days etc.
At the end of the day whatever scheme is introduced there will be winners and there will be losers and remember that you are paying for it somewhere along the way.
My view is that it makes little difference to anything and - "Every little helps"

Re: Loyalty scheme review
I've also had the survey which I completed today.
I think they need to decide whether they want a loyalty scheme based on nights on board, or a reward scheme where you earn more points based on expenditure.
I don't think a mish-mash would work - it's neither one thing nor the other.

do not fear we have not been asked either so if they come up with something we do not agree with we will have no choice but to leave P&O as we very much like the present system all these ideals of class were the higher the grade you stay in the more rewards you get are completely against everything I was brought up to believe in.

Tell that to Raimondo - he thinks P&O have got it all wrong and the sun shines out of Calamity's embarkation procedure !

Last time I was only one cruise away from the next tier ... currently I am still 1 cruise away from the next tier (despite having cruised several times) ... I think the latest technique is to realign the tiers to always ensure that you are 1 cruise away from the next tier
Ah well, que sera sera ... the only thing of any real interest to us is the discount of the onboard account.

Apart from the discount, I would miss the priority embarkation but otherwise......

Re: Loyalty scheme review
Mine arrived today. As a single person now, I would never be able to justify a suite so that obviously had a bearing on my answers. We were Baltic for cruises up to last year when I had to cancel 2 cruise due to my wife's illness and subsequent death. Hence, despite having approaching 4000 points, I have been reduced to Caribbean, not that it makes much difference! Only missing out on half price laundry and lunch with a senior officer. I think I will be ok with that!

I think this lunch with a senior officer malarkey is a serious downgrade bearing in mind we had a table hosted by two of the Headliner's girls at the last Caribbean bash. I'll miss that !!

We were ' hosted ' by an Officer on Aurora or was it Oceana ... anyhow we had cruised more days than he had, straight into the deep end via Matalan.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

It's all well and good having a meal with the crew, or having internet time, free laundry whatever, but I would prefer to see special discounts on the fares, perhaps saver fares with the perks of select

I agree (that makes a change!) - I don't go on holiday to eat with the crew - honestly couldn't think of anything worse! - surely they can factor the money spent on meals etc into discounts - some people would still want the meals but I think the majority would prefer a discount on their holiday.Silver_Shiney wrote:It's all well and good having a meal with the crew, or having internet time, free laundry whatever, but I would prefer to see special discounts on the fares, perhaps saver fares with the perks of select

Agreed. On our recent Cunard cruise, we were invited to a hosted table and declined. They sounded quite surprised; surely a significant minority doesn't fancy the idea? The Tinker wrote:I agree (that makes a change!) - I don't go on holiday to eat with the crew - honestly couldn't think of anything worse!
