'Street Food' on Oceana

Looks like they've made a change on Oceana at the Horizon Grill for day time food.
Instead of being able to have a free burger and chips or a jacket potato, they've got cartons of 'street food' like cod and mushy peas or chicken bites and waffles. The catch being that the charge is £3.50!
Seriously, they can bog off if they think I'm going to pay for food in a carton on a ship.

Won’t affect me but I can’t imagine wanting anything remotely like cod and mushy peas at lunchtime. And I certainly don’t think it should be charged for.

Someone at Carnival is thinking we'll do this and charge the pot passengers.
They will milk the passenger too often soon.

What's the problem ?
If you want ' free to go / all included ' then go to the Buffet or the MDR but if you require something that some poor soul has to prepare for you personally then why not expect to pay extra for it.

WHY? when it was included before. And what's with all the 'poor soul' bit. It's their bl**dy job for goodness sake.Manoverboard wrote: ↑15 Feb 2018, 18:21What's the problem ?

If they want to keep trying to milk the already paying passenger for even more it could come back and bite them. Plenty of other cruise lines out there or land base holidays come to that.

I always thought that the food was included in your overall cruise price.
I don't mind paying for the speciality restaurants, but cartons of street food which were previously free, what a cheek.
These daytime grills were useful if you were late back from an excursion when the buffet had closed.

Re: 'Street Food' on Oceana
Like any business, they are looking to up-sell.
Passengers always have a choice. Many seem to forget that.
If you don't want it, then simply don't buy it.
We enjoyed lunch on the balcony via room service occasionally, on a sunny day, but I won't be paying the new room service charge.
We'll stroll up to the grab and go (well, Mrs. B will) and simply bring it back.

Empty vessels .. and all that

There is one here who won't be paying for a little box of street food. I wonder what else P&O will start charging for. Goose and golden egg coming to mind.

We didn't have the street food because the weather was too bad, but I thought it was more like tapas type food. Could be wrong though

Re: 'Street Food' on Oceana
When we were on Oceana last summer, the payable street food was there, but you could still have the usual burgers/hot dogs/chicken/ fish at no extra cost. Just had to go to the other side of the counter.
Are they only doing the payable street food?
