Jacket required
So on our upcoming trip oop Norf , there is the 3rd dress code option, Jacket required, which is 6 of the 14 nights, 2 formal and 6 smart casual
According to the cruise blurb we received, this is either a suit with or without a tie and/or trousers, shirt and a jacket.
So do the male members ( snigger) of this forum take lots of jackets or just one or two? or is a suit the best option as the jacket can be stolen for other nights?
I don't want to pack an extra 3 jackets when I can get away with a suit and a one jacket

Re: Jacket required
To be honest - I would just take your suit and 1 jacket. As long as your jacket matches your shirts and tie (optional) why fill your suitcase with unnecessary clothing. However, some fashionista's will be horrified at this suggestion but unless you are a designer freak, why worry. Most people will be looking at your female companion's outfits, not at you, anyway!

I must be a freak then ! I usually take as much as I can cram into my suit carrier, normally a suit plus 3 jackets and a selection of trousers to mix and match. But then I do wander around looking like a refugee from Burton's window !!
Anyways, who says the lovely laydees won't be ogling me ?!

Re: Jacket required
Is this P&O and if so, are they still doing Jackety nights?
In my experience (P&O) a jacket can be anything that has a collar and sleeves. On Azura in the Caribbean a lot of us had been told that a shirt and tie was adequate but it wasn't the case and many of us turned up wearing the top half of our dinner suits. Some men just had a big cardigan.
I didn't see any big girls' blouses.

Re: Jacket required
QB is correct, its CMV which if you believe the blurb, is traditional British cruising, you know like Pando used to be before it went down market and standards slipped to the level of Butlins at Sea
Maybe 1 too many clichés there but you get the gist

Re: Jacket required
I believe this is the fashion trend this year on CMV
Having had a gander at the ships this should go down a treat at the Captains cocktail party and deck quoits according to my tailor

You could always do what a young lass I saw many years ago did - get a shiny black bin liner and cut holes for arms and head
