Since Mrs63 tried it she has been searching high and low and cannot find anything that resembles it.

Some Sainburys supermarkets have it and I find it is very near to what you have on ships, also Tesco has started to stock it but you have to add grated apple to it.

Just Google Bircher Museli and you will find it.

There are loads online eg

I vary the recipe but always oats, yogurt (not fat free) raisins & chopped apple & chopped nuts. Can’t go wrong

Yummy. my favourite breakfast when we go down to the restaurant for breakfast. Usually followed by a mushroom omelette. We also ask for thick toast which doesn't go rock hard like the stuff they usually dump on your table as soon as you sit down.

I know Jamie Oliver has a recipe for it and also Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa). If you Google both those chefs and put in Bircher Museli you may find it. I don't know if either resembles the P&O recipe. John really likes it on P&O too. Can't say it appeals to me - at least not just from looking at it. Maybe I'll try it next time.

If we eat in the buffet, I usually use either the Alpen packets or the ready mixed muesli and then add yoghurt plus the mixed red berries in juice and then top that with a spoonful of almonds. As soon as my husband sees it he always says I don't know how you can eat that muck as he tucks into a full english breakfast.

Two weeks time I will be doing just that. Hooray

Not tried the on board muesli but we like the Sainsbury own brand stuff. Maybe try it on board in 2019!

I used to make my own museli and really loved it. Sadly my tummy didn't like it and I had to stop eating it.

I shall be taking my own biscuits. Can't stand the ones in the cabin now.
If places like Warners can give you excellent biscuits why can't P and O.
Oh dear me it's cost cutting isn't it. They will phase them out altogether and say that passengers weren't eating them.

Is it still the silly biscuits that are broken before you even take them out of the packet. I seem to think I read about a different type that was being put in cabins now - must be very recently because when we were on Ventura they were still the silly broken ones, thin finger type. Mind you on our recent trip on Braemar there weren't any biscuits provided with the tea/coffee making things so we took our own. Think I might have to do that again for our long trip on Aurora next year - 65 nights with only broken biscuits, don't think John would survive. Mind you he's developed a new habit - not sure why, maybe to reduce the guilt - he now only takes half a biscuit from the biscuit tin so our tin is full of half biscuits. Our Grandson came in the other day and I said he could help himself to a biscuit and he said, 'Grandad's been breaking biscuits again!' Goodness knows why he does it he's as slim as anything and only just over 10 stone! If I take biscuits on Aurora he's going to have to eat whole ones!

According to the Telegraph magazine today, Birchers muesli is on the menu at Claridges.

Not that I can afford to eat at Claridges.

He's getting himself in shape for P&O's broken biscuits Carole.

Oh, so THAT's what that stuff is called. I've seen it each P & O morning, and even tried it once (not keen)

I normally have the Alpen museli and top it up with a seeds and nuts, sometimes with yogurt on top otherwise milk.

That's what I have Gill. Just the look of that other stuff is enough to put me off.
