As one chap put it "It's like being on a floating old folks' home!!!".
OBF - that's just how we felt the first time. The trouble is we now fit in nicely with that age-group

He didn't like Arcadia when we went on her in 2008
I didn't like Arcadia at first but then she really grew on me. We then had a break from her but went on her again in July and I thoroughly enjoyed being on her again. So perhaps John needs to give it another go.

It's interesting that you should say that. The first time we went on Arcadia we didn't like her. As one chap put it "It's like being on a floating old folks' home!!!". However we have been on her a couple more times since then and really do like her, more so than Oceana which is showing her age and has lost much of her appeal especially since they have done away with Le Jardin etc. Perhaps I have just cruised too much and am getting picky now but my vote goes to Arcadia and Aurora.

Looking back, we did Oceana, Arcadia, Arcadia, Oriana and then Arcardia again.
Arcadia was our favourite until we went on Aurora, which is now our favourite.
We've tried Azura and Ventura and like them both in a different way.
Next is Ventura and then next year Azura again.
We still haven't ventured onto Britannia.

Someone on Cruise Critic did a recent poll on favourite P&O ships and it came out like this.
Aurora
Arcadia
Oceana
Oriana
Azura
Britannia
Ventura

8 to 10 years ago and possibly before that Aurora would always come out as the most unlike to ship.

With regard to Cruise Critic news cruises very noticeable that if you do this poll on Facebook it was not Aurora which comes out of the top. Facebook has a much younger audience than cruise critic and people in Cruise Critic really don’t like you saying that. I had a post removed because I said the roll call on CC was not very well used because everybody was using Facebook. Naughty me

We must be the only two people in the country that have never been on Facebook
I just couldn't be bothered with it all.

Most of our friends are amazed and ask how we find out what's going on.
They are then amazed when we tell them that we don't really care what's going on.

We have a WhatsApp private connection with the kids and Grand kids and that's about it.
That's all we need to know about.

From what I've heard, I don't think that I'm missing too much.

I must not look again, I must not look again, I must not look again--- blooming PF inside cabins have already gone down by £47 per person on R010 for June 2020.

Nice ship barney. But you need to be fit as you'll walk bloomin miles on her. Like you Aurora is our favourite.

Maureen the Arcadia cruise I pre booked has dropped slightly. Still think I they will rise over time, especially as Aurora and Arcadia become more heavily booked due to being very popular.

I never check once I've booked - single supplements are my biggest nightmare and they are consistently high these days - I can remember only paying a 30% supplement - those days are long gone. Haven't booked for 2020 yet - still got two this year and two for next year - waiting on family to see what they fancy - apparently child prices are very low but not sure if that applies to school holidays.

Like you Jan, I never check prices once booked. You can't change it so why stress about it.

Book it, pay for it, forget about it. If someone else gets a better price then good luck to them.

Then just smile knowingly when fellow guests start boasting about how little they paid. Or if you're feeling really mean quote a price 50% less than theirs, tell them you got £1500 OBC, free parking and an upgrade to a suite.

I just checked our cruise for 2020 and it's gone up - at least our grade of cabin has. I will not look again......probably won't...

They don't rattle about so much in your luggage or your pockets so a good idea.

You can stop the cutlery rattling by wrapping it in the towels.

Just make sure you ask for some new soft towels, emphasising that you have very sensitive skin :)

So that's a decision made. QM2 eastbound transatlantic in 2020. A reunion cruise for the six of us who met travelling west previously.
