Sorry, I meant using sanitisers in general.
Personal hygiene habits of so many are not good.

Looks like another ten on board the ship have now tested positive.

You have to feel sorry for them. It would be hideous stuck in the cabin - any cabin, even the largest suite - for a couple of weeks.
Having diagnosed more, will they have to start the 14 days quarantine again?

I would doubt it. Having been confined to cabins the passengers would not have had any new opportunity to pick it up.

Very true sadly Finker. As QB says most of the sanitisers are only anti-bacterial. There are some antiviral ones, which we carry with us. But the best defence is thorough and frequent hand washing.
I've seen that the masks that some people have taken to wearing are pretty ineffective against airborne virus particles, with their main benefit being to stop them touching their own mouths after they've touched a contaminated surface.
Aside from cruising, I wonder how many people think to wash their hands after pushing a much handled trolley round a supermarket?

What anti viral do you use Mervyn?
The masks just get moist from breath and are a hazard in themselves.
Hand washing is the first thing to do coming indoors.
I walked out of a shop the other day as the assistant sneezed, coughed And finally used her hankie. I suppose she is to be congratulated on using one!

Wouldn't work me thinks.
When I had Noro during the epidemic on Oriana food was bought in on a single tray and taken out on the same tray. The idea of doing a stock check and / or handling bottles, cans plus packets of this that and the other a number of times by umpteen different people is a sure way of spreading the virus.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

My original post was a joke,i.e, not to be taken seriously. as was the original post, I believe. A real object of concern would be the effect on Carnival shares, but I'm sure they'll recover in the longer term. I reckon in another 6 months they'll hit £40Manoverboard wrote: ↑06 Feb 2020, 14:54Wouldn't work me thinks.

A horrible situation. I feel for them, especially the one's in inside cabins.

I certainly wasn't Moby, although not an alcoholic I do like a drink whilst on holiday, and would certainly be p****d off if my cabin booze ran out before the quarantine was finished.

Under the right supervision l can't see why passengers arn't being allowed to stretch their legs and breath in a bit of sea air. Face masks, rubber gloves, sanitised designated routes with a strict no touch policy would put them at no more risk than being served food on trays.

Well Hong Kong is off the itinerary, so we are waiting to hear officially before cancelling.
I do feel for all these going stir crazy in their cabins.

From the video clips on TV news last night, it looks as though World Dream passengers are not being confined to their cabins.

It would be nice to hear about someone actually recovered from the Corona Virus, maybe it's to early or that it's not news worthy. I think that there are lots who have, their experience would help to show how bad you get, say, compared to the flu.

Imagine being stuck i an inside cabin for that length of time. They are not big but apparently those on the Princess ship in Yokohama are allowed out of their cabins onto the promenade deck for an hour and a half just to get some fresh air as long as they don't mingle with each other. Then it's back to the cabin. Sounds horrendous. At least those with balconies can go outside. And all the time there's the fear that somehow you may contract the virus yourself.

I have heard the odd such story, but you're right the media prefer the drama.
