It's called fluid pricing. I am like Jan have 3 booked with P and O. 2 on Arcadia and 1 on Aurora. Will bear Saga in mind for though for the future.

I may have to win more on the lottery than last time, approx £8.
That’s the difference with Saga’s pricing policy, no last minute fire sales.
They guarantee that the earlier you book the better the price.
Whether that will have to change when they have almost double the capacity remains to be seen.
Good luck with the lottery :)

Merv and Trish
This is our first post.
We have read with interest your review. Thank you!
We too have just tried Saga Spirit if Discovery and thoroughly enjoyed it.
We booked this after being let down when P and O sold the Oriana and we should have been on a 28 day Caribbean Cruise.
We booked the Pure Canaries 13 nights in January and we very impressed.
We felt it was proper cruising much like our first cruise in 1998. The ship itself is amazing. We just loved the width and space on the promenade deck.
We will definitely be booking again.

Update. I can now confirm she handles reasonably well at sea in a storm. Where we've been all night.

I'm not sure the Captain is Italian. If he is his English is awfully good.

Until he retired, the captain I sailed the most (in terms of nights at sea) was Angelo Vago.

Took me by surprise. A lot of Stephen's posts are a bit like jokes, but just without the funny bits. :sarcasm:
