Just had a pleasant surprise drop through the letter box. The full refund from Carnival/P&O for our cancelled cruise that would have been happening right now.

Only taken about eight or nine weeks as well.

Good news Stephen - still can't make sense of method of repayment but hey ho I'm not going anywhere :lolno:

I'm awaiting a refund from my cruise at Whitsun but the 60 days from applying for refund isn't up until last week of June but it's encouraging to know that people I know have received theirs. That should brighten up your day

It's good news that P&O have sorted out their refund process for the more recent batch of cancelations.

But they have made a real pigs ear of the first batch of refunds from March. There's still people who haven't had their refunds from the mid March round of cancellations, so it's nearly 3 months now.

It must be frustrating Gill, especially when it's difficult to contact anyone at P&O about it.
When I was trying to chase our refund a while back through our travel agent, even they were having difficulty getting hold of anyone at P&O.

It must be really stressful for those still waiting, as these are not small sums of money.

I hadn’t got to the stage of chasing it up Stephen and Gill - I applied for my refund on 24 April so it’s 7 weeks today - I thought I’d be waiting a lot longer. My son and his in-laws put their request in a few days after me so fingers crossed theirs will arrive soon. As you say Gill we are talking about a few thousand pounds. For the first time I was going to share a cabin with my eldest granddaughter so we were both disappointed :(

Plus with the uncertain job situation developing, many will have problems now they could not possibly have foreseen at the time of booking. I feel terribly sorry for anyone still working in the private sector.

It must be incredibly worrying for workers.

It awful that this had to happen, but I feel so lucky that I don't have to worry about a job

It wasn't so much a 'chasing up' Jan as I knew I was still within P&O's time line. I was trying to get some sort of confirmation that P&O had got my online form refund request and that it was in the queue for processing as they don't provide any form of confirmation. Irrelevant now, of course.

I received my cruise refund about three weeks ago.
However I am still waiting for my extras to be refunded ie shore excursions and wine package.
These had been booked as we were only a few weeks from sailing infact our tickets had been issued.
Is anybody else still waiting for these refunds. I only ask as my sailing companions have had theirs but not me. P and O have confirmed they received my online refund form and ten amounts tally.

I would have thought that you would have had the shore excursions long ago as they are refunded automatically when an excursion is cancelled.

Have you changed your card since you booked them?

My ta has spoken to P and O today, apparently it's been overlooked.
It's been given to a team leader to deal with.

My TA phoned me yesterday to ask if I’d received a cheque from P&O refunding my deposit on the July cruise which Hays had already given me. Apparently P&O have refunded some people although like me they’ve already had the money back and we are talking thousands of pounds - one client had the full cost of the cruise refunded but had only paid a deposit!!! I’m eagerly awaiting my refund cheque :lolno:
