P&O now cancelled up to March 2021

P&O have just sent an email saying that our Caribbean cruise in March has been cancelled (booked using FCC from a previously curtailed cruise)

That is 7 cancelled holidays in a row :(

I thought that they had already announced that a few weeks back.

I know that out March cruise (which will be being cancelled) will only be the second cruise going out.

I know certain ships had been cancelled going into the new year, including (I think) their world voyages - sadly this is the first we have heard about the Caribbean though ... which was our replacement for the Oceana UAE.

I'm simply amazed that anyone can consider international travel in the midst of a global pandemic.
It was international travel that spread it in the first place.
I'd be a bit surprised if next summer goes ahead.

Right now I cannot think of anything worse than a 10 hour flight wearing a mask.

Did hear on the News just now that a vaccine is due out in January and that a 1 hour test for £80 is available at Heathrow Airport in Terminal 5 ... so maybe, just maybe some will be cruising albeit not me.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

Had a call and email from Iglu this morning to say Azura 1st April cancelled, asked for a refund and it's up to 60 days and P&O will process it. Would have cancelled anyway so am pleased about it as I wont lose the deposit which I was expecting to do!

We have a June cruise booked but we won’t be going on it.
Maybe move to 2022 or maybe just write off the deposit.
On a different note, there was a very interesting piece in this morning’s Guardian about how Barcelona is reinventing Las Ramblas to make it a centre of culture as opposed to a tourist trap.
Good luck to them.

We are (hopefully) on Azura in September as well - does that mean you get to put fluffy handcuffs on me

No, we are more front loaded in September ... I will give the ship a quick spring clean in readiness of your arrival.

As tempting as it sounds, we are not going on any cruises next year unless the going ashore rule changes, which is very doubtful, so will probably transfer our deposit over to one we have our eyes on for 2022.

That’s exactly how we feel about it Stephen.
A few restrictions on the ship may be tolerable, but we don’t want to spend thousands on a holiday to be tolerable.
As for getting off, for us, that’s the main driver.
Walking around Cadiz, stopping for tapas and a glass. Soaking up the ambience.
That’s what a holiday is about.

Do you really think so ... surely it would be a brand new experience to be confined to an inside cabin wearing one's mask cos some d**k head tested positive in the Bay of Biscay

That is pretty much what we will be doing with the March cruise. I am still hopeful for September (must remain optimistic).

Nor me ... perhaps they will not sell them, using them instead for quarantine purposes be they passengers or crew ?

I would assume it is likely to be the lowest deck of cabins which is allocated entirely as the quarantine area, it is nearest to the medical centre and relatively easy to isolate.

Good plan but would it be big enough on all ships ?

Not checked but I would imagine it would be, if not they would have to use part of the deck above.
