I don’t think it matters whether or not I’ve previously heard of the contestants, as you get to know them throughout the series.

However, I haven’t really watched for a couple of years. I think it could do with a break for a few years

Caroline Quentin voice got on my nerves.
Afraid I switched off half way through.
You would have bet money on Anton getting the former home secretary.
Probably watch the actual dancing next week.

There were a few voices/personalities that grinded on me, none more so than that of Shirley Bollas.

It could have been condensed into a half hour show. I am no great fan of all the padding which goes on in the show showing granny coming to watch them train or some of the setup scenarios which are so contrived they are ridiculous. I would much rather they focus more on the dancing and indeed training. Last night was dragged out by the silly meeting of dancers and celebrities which had obviously been rehearsed and were so contrived as to be totally unbelievable.
I do like Strictly but wish they would cut out the nonsense.

What was amazing is that most, if not all of the contestants said they got the partner they had hoped for.....see there are bigger fibbers than onelife :) .

I thought we'd jumped straight to the final last night after watching HRVY. My earlier prediction was right. Second week and he comes out dancing like that.

Let's hope he's not a one trick pony.

I must confess that Caroline Quentin surprised me, but I will reserve judgement until I have seen her do a fast latin dance, however Jacqui Smith should be the first to go.

There were a few plodders last night weren't there?
Sorry but Nicola and Katya didn't do it for me. When I watched them I could not help recalling Joyce Grenfell's "Stately as a galleon" song and think about how old ladies always danced together. Must bring myself into the 21st century I suppose but you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Nicola didn't knock me out either, nethertheless, l think she'll go 5 rounds at least.

I can see three posible podium contenders.....Maisie, that little twerp HIV and the dark horse Jason, who will come into his own with the ballroom dan2ces.

Oops! I meant HVRY :)

Not very PC but my sister reckoned Nicola and Katya looked like a couple of black and white minstrels. I can't say I disagree.

I'm no oil painting, but that Katya Looks like her mouth was an after thought.

Who's for the chop this week? My money's on Jacqui Smith. She was a bit wooden tonight and I can't see her getting much better (says he who's a total disaster on the dance floor!!)

I thought Craig was being over generous giving her two points....then again, I think he gave one of the points because she didn't fall off the swing :)

I thought Bill did rather well tonight  .

Jacqui Smith and Caroline Quentin in the dance off, with Jacque Smith getting the taxi for one. I've seen wood with more movement than she had last night. And god knows who Caroline Quentins hair stylist is, Sweeny Todd I reckon.

And love myself Shirley Ballas is getting on my nerves with her keep on getting up showing how the dance moves should be done, when really all she's doing is showing off her tits, which to be honest are nothing special.

That Bill is so light on his feet.
Jacqui's Smith was so wooden it was painful to watch.

It's a long watch way to much padding out.

Record it then you can fast forward through all the "padding" and watch it in half the time

Jacqui Smith may be saved by votes from Anton's fans.
