Re: Quest tonight 9pm - Could be worth a look
I watched the one about Antarctica but not on the night.
I may watch the Princess one as I seen a round Britain cruise for August that I quite fancy doing, by that time it just might go bigger ship size than I want but just thinking at the moment.
I think it's the same size as Britannia

The Royal Princess class has all the advantages of Britannia, and few of the downsides. The central atrium/Piazza area of the Princess ships really are the heart of the ship, with live music and entertainment, and the decor is much more my style than the recent bland offerings that P&O have provided. So I look forward to watching this with great interest.

Watched this last night and enjoyed it. I would have liked to have seen more of the ship; most of it was from the operational point of view but interesting nevertheless. Nice to see some of the ports and the activities.

I notice there is a series of might ships on Quest each day between 12 and 1pm.

Interesting to listen to the young lady who was a second officer. She started out as a beautician, liked being at sea so much she swapped over and by the age of 25 had her qualifications for 2nd Officer. Did I hear that right? If so, good on her. No doubt she put in a lot of hard work but it was good to hear she had moved on in her second career so quickly.Stephen wrote: β14 Jan 2021, 09:32Same here. I often think I would have enjoyed that sort of life but when you come from a little village in Leicestershire with no experience of sailing and the nearest you get to the sea is the annual church outing to Hunstanton those opportunities are a million miles away. I never even knew such jobs existed.

If you're a SkyQ VIP you could get 12 month free access to Discovery+ which has lots of cruise ship programmes to download.Stephen wrote: β14 Jan 2021, 09:32Same here. She certainly had experienced a very successful career change. There was no mention of what academic qualifications she had, so she might have had a first in science from Oxford and just taken the beautician job as a one off to enjoy the experience.oldbluefox wrote: β14 Jan 2021, 09:42Interesting to listen to the young lady who was a second officer.
