Cruise transfer to 2022
I decided to take P&O's offer to transfer my 2021 booking to 2022, as there was a similar cruise available on Azura sailing just 13 days later in May with the same itinerary(reversed). Starting on Wed 14th, I spent over 110 minutes listening to recorded messages and "music" until I finally got through on Saturday morning. The transfer was completed in less than 10 minutes and the bonus was the price coming down by £372!
Our hope is that cruising will be back to the way we know it by 2022 (finger and toes crossed) Hopefully, Carnival will continue to give OBC to shareholders, but I'll have to wait until after the 2021 AGM for that. Maybe even a dividend by 2022!

We just did the same with Cunard. It was their first day on sale to the general public for Summer 2022 and I got a "please try later" message several times, but once I got into the queue I waited about 30 mins and then, as with you, it was done very quickly.

Re: Cruise transfer to 2022
It does beg the question of "Holiday 2021", of course. Having missed out on our Baltic Cruise in 2020 due to CMV folding up and now no holiday planned for 2021, we'll just have to hope that something will turn up, later next year. At this rate we could be getting out of the holiday habit and spending the money on a garden re-vamp!

Re: Cruise transfer to 2022
Further to my original post, I've just seen from the P&O website that the price of our cruise has leaped from £4744 to £5966 for the same cabin grade, two doors down. That's an increase of more than 25% since Nov 2020. What's happening?

Fluid pricing, demand and supply, possibly current bookings are pushing up against the expected covid secure capacity.

Reduced number of passengers allowed or P&O trying to claw back some of their lost income ?
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

we have a cruise booked on Arcadia in july since we booked this cruise 18months ago it has gone up £1800 for the two of us now same balcony cabin, the only problem is it has to be paid for by march 27th so do we risk paying and end up wearing masks on board and only being able to get of on p&o excursionsor as it is a cruise round Britain wil the taking excursions rule not apply decisions decisions

Re: Cruise transfer to 2022
I imagine it will be cancelled before 27th March, if not I would hope P&O will be reducing the balance payment to 30 days, as they already have for all cruises due to sail before the end of June.poole boy wrote: ↑05 Feb 2021, 22:52we have a cruise booked on Arcadia in july since we booked this cruise 18months ago it has gone up £1800 for the two of us now same balcony cabin, the only problem is it has to be paid for by march 27th so do we risk paying and end up wearing masks on board and only being able to get of on p&o excursionsor as it is a cruise round Britain wil the taking excursions rule not apply decisions decisions

Another option is to transfer the balance to another cruise.
Currently there is no cost involved, you can move it as many times as you want and the cruise can be of a lower value than the existing one.
You can either move it to a cruise you want to do or, as we will be doing, move it to a cheap "holding" cruise with a view to moving it to something else later

We've moved a Cunard cruise twice - from May 2020 to May 2021 to May 2022

Re: Cruise transfer to 2022
The P&O mole on CC thinks that they will launch the 2022/3 winter season brochure in March, so I am holding off moving my July booking in the hope that P&O cancel it before then and are still offering FCCs at 125%. Its not a big deposit but every little helps.
PS He also thinks that they will be announcing the name of their next Gala ship (IONA 2) later this month or next.

P&O have reduced the final balance payment to 30 days, so make sure your TA is not adding on an unreasonable amount of extra time for them to hold your money.

Re: Cruise transfer to 2022
thanks for the tip towny44 but as they gave us fifty pounds of each for paying one month early when we booked I think that is very fair
