We had to do this on an RCI cruise in 2019, I can't remember the exact process but their website instructions were very easy to follow.

I always get alarm bells ringing when his sort of thing happens on web sites, especially where credit card information is concerned.

You do wonder sometimes if companies want you business with the amount of hoops they want you to jump through.

poole boy, try contacting the call centre and ask them if it would be OK to produce at checkin. Sometimes all they are trying to do is get the majority to do the paperwork online knowing that there will still be a few to be handled quayside. If this is not doable and you remain stuck then let me know and I will try to help (if I can).

Registering a credit card for on-line check-in has been a problem for a couple of years.

On our last cruise (in those dark distant days when we could go cruising) I tried to register my CC but was unable to do so because of "technical problems". I was subsequently told that it was to do with my booking reference number!

Reference numbers can be tricky things as Mrs S found out this morning when trying to pay an invoice via online bank transfer using her iPad. Whatever she tried it wouldn’t accept it. Later I said let’s try and pay it on the desktop pc. Again it wouldn’t accept the reference number. I then removed the # tag and hey presto. Why put a bl**dy # tag in front of the ref number on a invoice.

There are a couple of reports on a cruise page on Facebook with other passengers having the same problem.
So it's their system not you.

That is exactly the same issue that I referred to above - so it is something that has been going on for years. I would not expect a "quick fix"

I believe the # symbol is a long standing American abbreviation for "number"

But why preface a number with it on an invoice - who knows ! ??

well I have phoned p&o for 50mins this morning got lots of messages about restarting cruises then cut of so I am unable to speak to any one at p&o have tried 3 different numbers.
so I phoned iglu t/a who told me p&o are having big problems with there new system as it is not working so to wait 2 days to let them have a go at fixing it then try again on Wednesday, what a way to run a cruise line as their systems never seem to work :o

Tell you what, an invoice has many numbers on it so it may make sense to prefix the actual Invoice Number with a # ... just saying.

We could move to braille and do away with ink altogether :)
