just returned from Britannia cruise

just returned from Britannia cruise B114q a four nighter from Southampton along the south coast to Lundy and back again we had cabin D448 excellent cabin would advice anybody interested in Britannia to book it could not really find fault with anything on this ship food excellent pools brilliant new staff so glad to be back at work were excellent the thing was there was only 1500 passengers on board which gave us all the space we needed to have a wonderful break we were told getting off today that they would be taking 2000 today and as I have always said the ship was to big for me I must be honest admit with this number of passengers it was a perfect cruise but we both think the same that it would feel crowded for us and with my health problems we would not enjoy it so much with a full load of passengers but what I would say is try it yourself before making your minds up :D

I've travelled on Britannia at full capacity and can imagine how great it would be with only 1500 on board  Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for letting us know how you got on.

Thanks for the update Poole Boy. The natural question is what where the COVID checks and precautions like both pre-cruise and on board?

Sounds like you had a great time Poole boy.

Like Jan we've been on Britannia at full capacity and enjoyed the ship. The only thing we found was it is bloomin big. Those corridors go on for ever, it felt like we had walked miles by the end of our cruise.

you had to take a covid test just after entering gate 10 then wait 20 minutes for the result so long as you passed you were allowed to board you had to wear masks on board when traveling between venues and in shows, other than that tables were marked up were you could or not sit and you had to be seated by staff not were you wanted to be this was perfectly fair with us and a great time was had would recommend any body to try one of these cruises really good value for money in fact we are going on Iona in just over 4 weeks to Scotland for a week

Thanks pooleboy - sounds like they are not too restrictive. Whoever is cruising around the UK this week has certainly had the weather.

what we did learn yesterday was that Iona was being allowed to sail with 3000 people on so p/o have put it back on sail again and what we paid for a balcony cabin in middle of boat is what they are now asking for an inside cabin

Hi Gill

I will wave to you this Saturday from the Sunset bar aboard Celebrity Silhouette. We sail at 17.30 pm. What time slot do you have?

Peter

Do you mean arrival or sailing? 11.45 arrival, 18.00 departure.

We were originally on Celebrity after you return, but had to cancel due to some heath issues which were later resolved. Have a great time x

Hi Gill

We too are scheduled to embark at 12 noon. Looks like we will sail past you as you will be at the Ocean terminal still when we sail at 5.30 pm

Have a great cruise

Peter
PS We are on Regal Princess next July in the Med' for two weeks. Princess is my preferred line too.

In truth Peter, Cunard is our preferred line, and indeed we were booked on the first of their Seacations - but it was cancelled  We haven’t been on Princess since 2009 but the Princess Plus deal they were offering was just too good to pass up.

Have a great time, and I’ll definitely be waving, though whether or not you’ll see us, or we’ll see you, depends on which way we are berthed as we have an aft corner cabin
