Travel Ready Service

#1

Post by david63 »

Just had an email from Fred promoting their Travel Ready Service
We know things might feel a little changeable when it comes to travel at the moment, which is why we have introduced our new Travel Ready Service.

We will take care of everything we can when it comes to paperwork – including Passenger Locator Forms and NHS vaccination letters. We’ll also order any tests you might need to travel, so you can relax knowing all the details are in hand. And if there are changes to requirements while you are on your cruise – we’ll take care of them for you.

This helpful package is currently only £99pp, which includes the cost of your PCR test. To add it to your cruise, just let us know three weeks before you sail, at which point we will have a clear idea of what is required. You can book with confidence, and look forward to your holiday.
I wonder if other cruise lines will follow suit?

I hope P&O implement something similar, but I doubt it.

Is £99 good value?

I think it would be for those passengers who are likely to feel undue stress ...

Quite possibly.
Last time I travelled, a few weeks ago, our office manager sorted it all out and I have no idea of the price, procedure or time it took to complete, she just emailed/posted me things and I did what she asked (I actually wish I had have paid a little more attention to it all). I was just wondering if £99 could be perceived as a cynical attempt at increasing revenue or did it offer real monetary value or time savings.

Depending on where you go half of that cost could be taken up with a PCR test and the way that the requirements change, not just in the UK but around the world, I would consider it good value.

Our next door neighbours are due to fly out to Egypt tomorrow and they have spent most of the weekend trying to get the paperwork sorted - doesn't help that they don't have a smartphone

Thanks David, I value time very highly so if it saves a significant amount of time then I would be happy to pay it.

If it gives some people peace of mind that everything has been taken care of then it’s money well spent.

That'd be my view too. Our only overseas holiday in the last 18 months was lovely but the need for doing the paperwork and getting it right hovered over it. I'd have happily paid ££99 for someone to worry about it for me. In cruising context it's a small amount compared to what we are already happy to pay for someone to make out bed and cook our dinner!

Remember that’s per person what Fred are quoting.
