According to Rapid Tests theirs are only valid for five months.
The ones I got from them are ok till November 23.

The little tinkers lied to me :o . Perhaps Merv was right and they were shifting old stock.

Thanks screwy

The date on the NHS ones is so much longer! I really do think some of these companies are taking the pee to sell more!

We went down to North Devon travel centre to book our Lft for our cruise on 25th June this morning.
It’s only a ten minute drive and done and results while you wait or they send it via email.
The receptionist said it would be on email before we got home, which I’ll print off.
It all seemed very professional and we now have full confidence.
So, everything done now.
Nothing else remains but to drive to Southampton and get on Ventura 😁

I thought testing had to be done the day before the cruise barney, or am I missing something.

Foxy is correct Stephen.
We booked today for 4.00 pm on the 24th.
It’s more expensive than the internet tests but we’re happy for peace of mind.
It’s a practice so no danger of it not working for any reason.
Of course, we may test positive and it’s all off 😩

Lucky you Barney.

Our tests are on the 3rd June, can’t do it in a centre because they’re all closed for the jubilee bank holiday.🤬

I've just heard from a friend who used this company and said it was all very straightforward and worked efficiently.....

I've now got my two test kits and ordered two more to be on the safe side.

In the end I went with Randox Health. https://covid.randox.com/

Allot cheaper than Rapid Tests, and more so if you use their provided discount coupon (£12 each kit inc free delivery). The turn around of 3hrs is longer than the 15 minutes with Rapid Tests but not a problem. A good long date on them as well of 10/2023 if we don't need the second two test kits this time round.

We’ve now decided to travel to Southampton the evening before so we have our tests booked for 3.45 in Barnstaple.
They test and give a printed certificate within 30 minutes. We’ll pack the car, do the test, get the cert and be on our way.
We have a 1.30 check in time so by the time we leave the hotel, it will be pretty spot on.
We will pop up to West Quay for a bit of brunch, I expect.

When we were getting off Britannia yesterday there was a small testing unit in one corner of the baggage hall at Ocean Terminal - no idea who they were testing or whether you can book to be tested.

Over on cruise critic they are now reporting that pre cruise testing for Iona's remaining June and all July cruises is no longer required.
Presumably only a trial at present but should be extended beyond July if things go well, and maybe then fleetwide if most countries follow Norway's lead.

I think I’m happier knowing that everyone boarding has passed a negative test, even if they are not 100%.
It just reduces risk.
Doesn’t eliminate but certainly reduces.

Oh dear Screwy sorry to hear that :(. A friend is on Britannia at the moment. She is sharing a cabin with her aunty who has tested positive so she has been in isolation too but still testing negative. Such a shame mid cruise - hope John and Pauline are ok.
