Virgin Cruises
Did anyone else watch the Virgin cruise behind the scenes program on channel 5 last night.
I managed five minutes and thought that was enough to put anyone off cruising for life.
Not for me thank you

Re: Virgin Cruises
Yes I watched about half of it. There is absolutely no resemblance between that and any cruise ship I've been on or would contemplate going on for that matter. If someone who was thinking of going on a cruise, then for the majority of people it would, as Stephen says, put them off completely. Of course there will be a small majority who would enjoy it but I'm not sure cruising the ocean had anything to do with it. It was more like a permanent disco which happened to be on a ship. As for calling the passengers, 'Sailors', well!

Got it recorded ... may, on reflection, be a good idea to delete it

Re: Virgin Cruises
I actually know someone who has been on the Virgin cruise and they said that it was fantastic - however they have never been on a cruise before.
I think that you have to take into account that these cruises are not the same as the ones that we are used to and are aimed at a different demographic.
If people go on them and enjoy them that is fine by me but what I wouldn't want to see is those same people going on, say. a P&O cruise and expecting everything to change to be how Virgin operate.

Count me out on that ship sailors. I thought it was bad enough avoiding the ship's photographers on embarkation but the sight of that fella with the megaphone in his red outfit was enough to shiver me timbers.
As David said fine if that's what some like but don't change P&O to accommodate them. As it is P&O is not what it was.

Re: Virgin Cruises
We watched and both decided it’s not for us under any circumstances.
I’ve taken it off the planner
A Virgin cruise is about as far away from a holiday as I want.

Empty vessels .. and all that
