Azura A320N - Venice

#1

Post by ronay2006 »

On this cruise in August.
We are in cabin C219 starboard. Will we be able to see anything coming into Venice or is it best to be on a top deck?

Welcome to the site.

The starboard side passes by the main sites in Venice on the way in - Doges Palace and the Grand Canal. The best views are out on deck although early morning you will need to wrap up warm.

Thank you oldbluefox.
That's just what I wanted to hear.
We can watch sail in from our balcony & up on deck when we leave.
Smashing!

I've been watching the posts for 3 months and finally my resistance is broken and I've registered!
We've sailed in to Venice twice - once on Ventura in what felt like absolute peace, then last year on Aurora with a running commentary of "interesting" information, which, even on our balcony, went a long way to spoiling the entry. I'll be on board this cruise (with an aft balcony - so not sure what we'll do), so let's hope it's a peaceful one! Azura is booked in port from 9am to 6pm so it shouldn't need to be too early a rise for you. Enjoy...

Welcome gouty-man glad you've decided to join us ... enjoy

Ronay, we have done 3 sail-in's to Venice and it wasn't until last year that we managed to get a cabin on starboard side, our sail-in was around noon ( we had an overnight ) so it was wonderful to be out on the balcony with friends and a bottle of "champers" and lots of sunshine.

Enjoy !!!

Thanks to all.
Seems like we've picked the right side for this cruise then.
We have only been on 3 before (2 on Ventura & 1 on Oceana) but always picked a port cabin for some reason.
Canny wait!!!
