I look on with envy sometimes when I see the cruise only deals on offer in America.
Pre 9/11 one chap claimed he always kept a bag packed in his car and if he fancied a cruise he drove down to the docks and asked to be let on ... for the cost of taxes ... and apparently he often succeeded, but then he was known to be a big spender in the casinos.

Ken, We are usually on holiday in May at Folly Beach Charleston. We meet up with family and friends for Memorial Day and have 'tagged' on several short trips. One year there was a very stupid price cruise leaving the next day but it was for US passport holders only.
It does seem to be happening here, a great reduction with a few days notice but I think the only people to benefit will be those who live within easy access to Southampton and can quickly pack their cases.

Don't forget RCI are bringing their Oasis of the Seas over to Europe in 2014. With its capacity for up to 6200 passengers, that will take up a lot of the slack.
