We've stayed on St Lucia and Antigua. The Rex St Lucian is in a lovely location and the restaurant is right in the beach. If you want an umbrella on the beach then just ask one if the young assistants and slip him a dollar or two. On Antigua we like the Rex Halcyon Cove. You can buy a day pass which gives you access to all the facilities, breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea and also all-inclusive drinks. We were there on Boxing Day and had the beach to ourselves but next door were all the sunbeds for the cruise ships and they got very busy and crowded and had little shade. I have photos.

Phil, did you know that the Big Pig died last year, you will see his grave this year on the beach.
By the way we still have not ever seen any monkeys on Cockleshell yet.

Jasper you make me feel so guilty ;) However, Jasper you will be please to know :) that having been on the Baltic Tier for the last 5 cruises with P&O, which accumulated to 77 nights overall (3 nights less than the 80 nights required) P&O have downgraded us from Baltic to Caribbean Tier for the N327 and then guess what yes we have been bumped up again to Baltic Tier for the N328. I just don't know how we will manage on the N327 now we have forfeited the 50% discount on the laundry and missing out on the Baltic Tier exclusive Senior Officer's hosted event. Poor Scott's hands will be red raw with all the washing he will require to do on the N327. I wonder if we will receive a Caribbean Pin on N327? and another pair of blue slippers. If so, we will be going home with four pair of blue slippers this time.
We will then have 12 pair of blue slippers and a selection of Pins, might be able to make a necklace. OR set up yet another stall in The Atrium.

It looks as though the way we are bouncing up and down the tiers we will have no chance of ever getting the Complimentary formal attire pressing service for the first formal night (Ligurian Tier). Oh well, we will just have to continue taking the steam iron along :shh:

It's a tough life Pat...does P&O really know what they are doing!!! :moresarcasm:

It would be cheaper to pay and take on board our own personal butler soon  I wonder how much the seats are this year? or even premier class.

Jasper
As far as I am aware it cost
£12.50pp each way = £25 x 2 = £50 to reserve economy seats and
£200pp to upgrade plus £12.50 pp each to reserve premier class, we have also been informed that because we are only flying one way we are still required to pay
£200pp for the flight that we will not be flying on :? . Needless to say, we are travelling economy home. £25 is enough to pay. However, we are still in debate about having to pay another further £25 for the flight that we are not on flying out to Barbados. I cannot remember if we only paid to reserve seats one way last November.
Perhaps anyone else who is on N327/N328A sailing from Southampton and flying home can tell me if they also have been requested to pay for reserving seats both ways or just on return flight home. Thanks Pat

Pat,

We, like you, are doing N327A / N328A, back-to-back and will only be flying one way, - Barbados to Birmingham, so I am curious to know what P&O. / Thomsons are going to ask to reserve two seats for the journey home. However, most of the people returning to the UK. from N327 & N327A will only be flying one way, so it will be interesting to see what will those wishing to pre-book seats for the homeward journey will be charged ?.
If they try to charge me for both ways, I will ON PRINCIPLE refuse, and even though it will be a case of "cutting off my nose to spite my face" I will take my chance with seating but will probably not do any more flights to and/or from the Caribbean.

Alan.

If they follow the practice of previous years they will only charge you one way, but there may be some delay on boarding your plane as they will be rolling out the red carpet for Pat and her entourage

Phil,
Thanks for the info. re- the seating reservation charge.
We shouldn't be delayed because we are on the Birmingham flight, which is the day after Pat's flight to Glasgow. It should be interesting watching Pat's Police escort leave the ship to go to the airport though.

I think I should have been more precise in my previous posting: "It should be interesting watching Pat's VIP. Police escort leave the ship to take her and Scott safely to the airport."

So I guess Phil that we only paid for reserving seats one way only last year  .

Alan, just look out for the car coloured yellow that has only three wheels that will be the only escort to the airport that we will be getting,
unfortunately it is only Dell Boy and Rodney that is travelling back to Glasgow.

Sometime, somewhere in the past I have read about a restaurant / eating house in Barbados, but, unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the establishment, nor locate the article. I gained the impression that it served local, good quality food, that it was very popular but that it served "fun" food rather than being "fine dining". We are on N327A / N328A, back to back, so have two overnighters in Barbados. We may like to give it a try, if we can locate it, and / or there are any reasons why we shouldn't.
Kindest regards,

Alan.

Phil and Sue have visited a restaurant in Barbados but I don't know if it only serves fish and chips  . No I am not kidding, Phil mentioned this restaurant to me once but I don't remember the name of it. Remember Alan, we only have one overnight stay in Barbados and that is on Friday 8th,although you will still have all of the Saturday 9th in Barbados. Oh sorry Alan of course you will still have Friday 22nd evening in Barbados also.
Check with Phil about this restaurant Alan because he might just be kidding me on

I think that restaurant was Tides Pat but we didn't go there but some others on the cruise did. Very nice, very expensive. We only went to Oistins for fish Friday which is perhaps what you are thinking of.It is a village where everyone gets together (on a Friday would you believe) for a fish stew,
drink and dancing. Gets very busy but worth a look if you are in port on a Friday which of course the 22nd Nov is

Phil,

Thank you very much for the info. The restaurant named in the article was Oistins and although I don't recall it being a fish (stew) restaurant all the rest ties up and I now clearly remember the name. We are in Barbados on the Friday, so will make a note of the details.

Kindest regards,

Alan.

Hello everyone,

Was having a problem for a while getting on due to the password no longer being accepted. Glad to be back on and be able to join in. Cruise getting very close for us. 10 weeks on Friday for us but I know it will all start earlier for those on the back to back cruise (very jealous). Really looking forward to getting away but will need to start sorting out what we will be taking. Seems to be autumn/winter clothes coming in to the shops now!!

Suggestions for N327 Meet & Greet as follows  :

Exchange F Deck 6 behind Reception Desk
Red Bar Prom Deck 7 beside Atrium

Does the exchange serve tea/coffee refreshments ?
Refreshments can still be served in Red Bar even though Red Bar is closed during the day.

All suggestions welcome  .
