Don't forget space is limited in the car.... I suppose we could always strap you to the roof

We'll be leaving at crack of sparrows on Saturday, but then we haven't got nearly as far as you to travel, Annie. Drop the car off at my mother's, wait for the taxi, job done!

Those sites are never accurate. We were visiting Sydney on Aurora once and it didn't even show we were there and yet there we were for two whole days....

and you have a big enough car?

Last time we took our daughters - admittedly 2 of them.... Dad and JD went by car with the luggage and SD and I went by train. It rather confused the taxi driver from Soton Stn who couldn't work out how we were doing a 2 week cruise with one 2 handbags and a weekend case!

That reminds me of when we were going on a World Cruise and on this occasion we had taken our cases down to Southampton around ten days before sail. the day before sailing we took a train into London, then a greyhound bus to Southampton and stayed at the a travelodge overnight. When our taxi came in the morning and we said what cruise we were doing the taxi driver said no way were we doing that with the luggage we had with us, we did tell him in the end what we had done. These days we do hotel with cruise parking so no need to do the adventurous trek.

Are we going to do a meet up on board. I have no idea where is the best place to meet as I have not been on Oceana since 2004?

melsea, happy to meet up - probably best done on a sea day. Since the revamp, I don't know where the best place would be - we tend to favour the "outside" of Magnums (outside Le Club) during the day, or Explorers and, in the evening, Tiffany's.

We'll be in L341, so drop a note if we're not in.

Meg, are you just being sociable on this thread, or are you coming too?

Regards

Alan

Only a small car, Meg, but her cases aren't huge. We managed when the three of us went down last year for the Norwegian cruise. This time we're leaving the car at my mum's and a large taxi is picking the 4 of us up from there.

He obviously thought you were very light packers!
Thats why I have been so organised for the first (and probably only) time in my life! Trying to make lists of what I actually need...and I will be using a lot of vaccume bags :)
