I sent my email yesterday regarding my shareholder benefits. I am new to this so would I expect an email back confirming my benefits or would it go to my TA. Plus I have only had the shares for a couple of months so will I get the dividend. :?

Yes you will get the benefits and will probably hear today. Have a great time spending your OBC.

I emailes Karen Hawkins a couple of days ago about exactly what proof of ownership i would need to supply and she replied this morning.

a screen print of my carnival holding with my stockbroker is fine, masking out my account number of course.

I will print one out this afternoon and send it off by post.

Thanks for the replies, I will hopefully hear from her soon. Its only a 12 nighter so not loads to spend but every little helps. Now next year is 14 nights, and that is definately worth having.

Dave, You can send the screen print in an e-mail to Karen instead of posting it, if you prefer, I find it easier.

Oh well !. It has been a week now sincee i posted the request and no response from P&O. I will give them until monday before I start firing off emails.

not confident though as i have another beef with them about them not applying peninsular discount to my onboard spend. no response there either.

We always get our shareholder obc after waiting no more than a day. Just applied for it yesterday, and it took about 3 hours.

Just had dividend payment - oh well, every little helps.

Was it the usual £16? Better than nothing at all and at least we benefit when going on a cruise... :-)

Two P&O excursions should cover it

Hi QB,

You think you've got a problem with £465 - spare a thought for poor old me ( :sarcasm: ) - I've got to wade my way through 2530 ! I'm planning.

Firstly, I seem to recall that the cruise in question was booked whilst we were onboard. There was a special deal to book then and get extra obc - ok, no problem. The rest of it - I just don't know, but there was of course the addition for shareholders when we paid the balance.

I don't understand it, I (as per usual) queried the total amount outstanding balance at the point of paying the balance, and at the point I also double checked suite number, and a couple of other items, including the obc.

I was then sent the final booking confirmation thing (without the shareholders bit) and after that I got the one with the shareholders bit, and as usual I'll take that paperwork with me at embarkation and as usual I'll go and get a printout of the on board account on the first sea morning.

I'm not worried, it's not the first time I've had this sort of obc, I'll manage somehow :!:

Crikey, we paid only a little more than that for a 20 night cruise. :!:

Mind you, if ever we got that sort of OBC, we too would find a way of spending it. Just a shame PandO don't sell Omega watches on board.

Have fun with your spends.

We too have had a similar amount of OBC as Em. We used it for our auto tips, for drawing dollars for personal tips, for a cruise line booked taxi to the airport 35 miles away and still had a zero balance at the end of the day.

I thought that you couldn't draw cash against OBC - have the rules changed?

I don't think I'll be able to draw cash out against it, but currently my plan is to do flowers for our friends who are joining us for this cruise, a couple of visits to a speciality noshery, and then gifts for other friends - perfume etc, and if there is enough left, I'd like a tee shirt for me. I look at it this way - it's a nice bit of good fortune, and I'd like to share it a bit.

Ah, well our situation was complicated by the fact our TA (the ONLY time we used them) "forgot" to add our substantial amount of OBC to our booking and once the ship had sailed this could NOT be added to the on board account. So after a lengthy telephone call, the TA credited our CC with the correct amount, only in sterling rather than the dollars we were expecting, and we spent whatever we wished on board, knowing the CC account already had the cash ready to pay the bill. In fact, because the TA calculated the exchange rate heavily to our advantage, we made about £100 on the transaction!

So at the end of the day, we didn't pay a penny, had cash and a $180 cab, generously tipped our steward and butler and bought family several treats.

Note to Em. Checking your OBC has been applied once on board is a good idea, but if it's missing, it can NOT be added to your on board account. Cunard told us it there simply is NO WAY for it to be done.
