Yes it does make sense.previously we have taken sterling travellers cheques and changed them as and when we needed to,but,I heard recently that they don't accept travellers cheques now so I'll have to look into that one.failing that I'll just take so much in dollars and the rest in sterling cash and change it onboard.Borogal2 wrote:Hi Kazibelle - when you were on Ventura before - how did you get money for spending on shore -did you take all cash or could you get money from reception? When we've been before it has been American ships so they would cash dollar travellers cheques at reception and any money we had left would go towards our on board account. As P&O are sterling we don't want to have too many dollars left when the on board account will be in pounds -does that make sense??!

Depending on how much you intend to spend then getting the relevant currency on board is the easiest option, although you may not always get the best exchange rate. As I say if it is only, say, a hundred dollars then in the grand scheme of things the difference in the exchange rate is not, in my opinion, that big an issue.Borogal2 wrote:Hi Kazibelle - when you were on Ventura before - how did you get money for spending on shore -did you take all cash or could you get money from reception? Also you can always pay any unused currency back into your account - irrespective of whether you got it on board or not.

No - but there is no need as any currency that you get is charged to your on board account (and no there are no additional credit card charges for withdrawing cash)Kaziebelle wrote:... do they accept travellers cheques?
