Re: J313 4 Nighter
Yep it did go quickly - We were on board by 1pm, cabins ready just after 2pm and enjoyed a good sailaway from Southampton. Our table companions for dinner were a lovely couple from Rye so had a very enjoyable first night chatting to them over a very nice meal.
Woke up Sunday morning with sore throat, which developed into a full blown cold, plus cold sore! Tried to make the best of it though.
Loved our day in Brussels, it was a no car day so just bicycles, skateboards and roller blades, even had police on roller blades. Saw King Philippe and his wife Queen Mathilde who did a very informal walkabout in the main square - got some very close up pictures. Our guide, George, was extremely knowledgeable and very funny. Hated Amsterdam, very dirty (as in rubbish ). Had to walk round red light district just to say we had done it! Did a canal cruise and some more walking, but just did not appeal to me and a city I would not rush back to.
Arcadia does definately need her refit and spruce up, but still a lovely ship. Comedian, whose name escapes me was very good. Food in MDR was excellent. A good, enjoyable cruise, but probably would have enjoyed it better if I had not succumbed to this b****y cold.. But can't blame P&O for that

Hi Jenni and welcome back. Such a shame about your cold but I find this happens with all the rushing round before a cruise then wham just as you start relaxing you succumb.
Glad you made the best of it and had a wonderful time.
I felt the same about Amsterdam when we visited there. The best thing was the sail in and the sail out.
Did your family all enjoy it?
Sue

Hello Jenni - nice to have you back but so sorry to hear you picked up a cold during the cruise
After what you and Sue say I think I'll cross Amsterdam off my list of places to visit - sounds a bit grotty
Hope you are feeling better now xxx

I would Jan - never met you (yet) but have a feeling from our conversations it would not appeal to you. I am feeling better than during the cruise, thank you, but still not 100% and now have a hacking cough - but I will copeJan Rosser wrote:Hello Jenni - nice to have you back but so sorry to hear you picked up a cold during the cruise
