A game for New Years Eve
(Or anytime you want a party)
This works better with larger numbers, for reasons which will become obvious.
Ask each of your guests to bring a wrapped gift to an agreed value - we do £5. It's great for New Year because there are so many half-price bargains in the shops. You also need two dice and a container to throw them in. Gather everyone into a circle (sitting - this can go on a bit depending on numbers). Place the wrapped gifts in the centre of the circle. Start a stop clock. Each player rolls the dice in turn and passes them to his neighbour. Anyone who throws a double chooses a gift. When all the gifts are taken stop the clock. Unwrap all the gifts. Start the stop clock again and play for the same length of time it took to take all the gifts. This time anyone who throws a double can steal the gift of his choice. You'll probably find that the most popular gifts change hands several times. When the time is up those who have gifts keep them. It works best if the timekeeper is the only one who knows how long play will last for the second half.
I hope you have as much fun and hilarity playing this as we did!

Sounds good fun Ann.
It falls a bit flat when there are only two of you though.

It would be quicker to use the tried (by some) and tested (by others) of throwing the car keys in the jar game

David - at your age the car key game is just to nominate the designated driver for the nightdavid63 wrote:It would be quicker to use the tried (by some) and tested (by others) of throwing the car keys in the jar game
